EMCO recognizes that the conventional means of thermal destruction of non-hazardous waste (blending with hazardous waste for use as a secondary fuel and hazardous waste incineration) have not proven to be a cost effective alternative to the disposal of non-hazardous industrial waste in landfills. Transportation costs (as well as other logistical constraints) may also prevent generators from sending non-hazardous industrial waste to Municipal Solid Waste co-generation facilities (or other non-hazardous waste incinerators) for thermal destruction. The EMCO Facility is able to manage non-hazardous waste streams and combine them to meet the material specifications of Municipal Solid Waste co-generation facilities. The EMCO Facility is designed to facilitate the thermal destruction of non-hazardous industrial waste at non-hazardous waste facilities.

EMCO Chemical Distributors, Inc. (EMCO) received a permit from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) to operate a non-hazardous waste transfer and storage facility (the "Facility") on January 31, 2002.

The Facility has been designed to accept drummed and containerized non-hazardous waste for testing and storage. Waste is shipped from the Facility in vanloads to municipal solid waste co-generation facilities for thermal destruction.

The Facility is located in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Facility is easily accessible via interstate 94.

The Facility is able to accept most types of non-hazardous industrial waste. The Facility is not authorized to receive hazardous waste or infectious medical waste. The Facility Waste Acceptance Plan is specifically designed to exclude Unacceptable Waste. The Facility is owned and operated by EMCO Chemical Distributors, Inc. The EMCO Chemical Distribution Facility is located in North Chicago, Illinois approximately 21 miles south of the Waste Transfer & Storage Facility. The EMCO Chemical Distribution Facility is the single largest chemical distribution and stocking facility in the United States. The 2001 sales of EMCO Chemical Distributors, Inc. were in excess of $100 MM.

Consolidated solid waste materials are shipped to Covanta Energy Corp. Waste-to-Energy Facility in Niagara Falls, NY.
